The University of Toronto seeks a Project Officer to join the Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS). You will lead cross-institutional teams to define strategic approaches for Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI), producing guidance and operational documents to enable university-wide implementation.
What You'll Do
- Work with committees to implement institutional strategy and guidance for compliance with Tri-Agency Policy, developing accompanying documents for research leadership.
- Provide secretariat support to the DRI Council and other committees by coordinating integrated workplans, meeting agendas, schedules, and speakers.
- Lead the oversight of website assets that help researchers learn about and access expertise, platforms, services, and resources.
- Act as the main point of contact for researchers to identify and respond to their needs, coordinating technical consultations across service units.
- Identify gaps in services and supports, analyze and recommend changes to systems, and draft proposals for senior leadership decision-making.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience in a DRI-related field such as data management, library studies, computer science, or digital humanities.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in academic research or information technology, with a focus on planning and implementing institutional DRI projects.
- Experience in the development, use, and/or support of enterprise-wide systems and research applications.
- Experience with website design and content management, including planning information architecture, developing content lifecycles, and populating page content.
- Experience in training users and producing user documentation.
- Deep knowledge of current digital research infrastructure challenges and opportunities in a post-secondary context.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models.
- Superior project and product management skills; ability to identify dependencies, risks, and priorities.
- Strong communication skills for writing strategic documents, proposals, and guidance materials.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines; strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated superior client service skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data sovereignty.

This role is part of the Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) team.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $103,367 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $132,188.

This is an onsite role at the St. George (Downtown Toronto) campus.
