Motorola Solutions is looking for a Project Manager to join our Mid-Atlantic Territory Deployment team. You will be accountable for the successful implementation, cutover, and hand-off to Support for emergency call handling software projects, serving as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal staff.
What You'll Do
- Accountable for the successful implementation, cutover, and hand-off to Support for emergency call handling projects.
- Write, manage, and implement the master project plan using automated project management tools, processes, and procedures.
- Measure performance relating to achieving each set of project goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal staff for the project.
- Establish and maintain contact with customers and channel partners as relates to their specific project, providing regular status updates.
- Organize and facilitate meetings with internal and external customers to ensure achievement of project goals, milestones, and deadlines.
- Initiate, generate, and maintain project schedules, leading status reviews to track current status against planned progress.
- Provide ongoing assessment and coverage of project risks, alerting management to potential issues and preparing action plans.
- Initiate, generate, and maintain project budgets (labor and capital) and financial objectives (revenue, margin, and cash).
- Analyze project costs and lead cost status reviews with team members and management.
- Ensure designated standards and processes are followed for all assigned projects.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma, Associates, or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, IT, Management, or Technology.
- 3+ years of Project Management or Program Management required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
Nice to Have
- Ability to effectively lead and drive all assigned projects.
- Experience with Public Safety communications systems is desired.
- Proficient in developing project documents and experience with a cloud-based document management system (Google Workspace).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is desired.
- Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services, is a plus.
- Must be a self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to think outside the scope of responsibilities and take initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively with regional and territorial management.
- Ability to effectively communicate with relevant peers and senior stakeholders.
