Puget Sound Energy is hiring a Project Manager II to lead the delivery of critical electric infrastructure projects. In this role, you will manage capital projects focused on enhancing system reliability, increasing capacity, or mitigating wildfire risk. You will be responsible for directing projects of medium complexity and financial impact, ensuring coordination across a wide range of stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate resources, provide oversight, and direct team members to meet project objectives.
- Define project scope and determine the logical sequence of actions to meet requirements and deadlines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing the relationship, identifying needs, setting expectations, and resolving concerns.
- Facilitate communication between service providers and internal customers.
- Apply general standards and guidelines to solve specific technical problems.
- Report on project progress and analyze facts related to project requirements.
- Develop, manage, and forecast project schedules and budgets.
- Support emergency response work as requested.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- At least four years of relevant work experience, including managing simple projects.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge and experience in scheduling, estimating, accounting, and finance principles.
- Basic project management knowledge to arrange resources and manage multiple simple to medium complexity projects in a cross-functional environment.
- A customer-oriented, positive, team-oriented, and collaborative attitude, with flexibility, business acumen, and a solid work ethic.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing small projects or programs.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to reconcile divergent viewpoints, and the ability to write clear, concise reports.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills for single or multiple technical areas.
- Knowledge of utility methods, techniques, and procedures in budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
- Advanced Project Management Training and a Project Management or Construction Management Certification from an accredited institution (e.g., PMI or College).
Team & Environment
You will coordinate and communicate tasks with other departments such as Engineering, Real Estate, Environmental, Permitting, System Planning, and Energy Resources.
