Honeywell is looking for a Project Engineer II to manage the portfolio of Productivity Projects, including Value Engineering and Component Engineering. You will influence and drive program evolution from initial ideas to final delivery in production.
What You'll Do
- Manage the portfolio of Productivity Projects including Value engineering and component engineering, including metrics of performance.
- Influence and drive program evolution from ideas to final delivery to production.
- Support initiatives like resiliency and obsolescence.
- Support the engineering team to resolve project blockers.
- Apply and contribute to the improvement of the processes used in the VE/CE process.
- Analyze risk and articulate clear escalation requests when needed or when a project is impacted by materialized risks.
- Apply knowledge of relevant industry standards in Environmental, Electronic, Mechanical, and Safety requirements for a product.
- Work in a matrix environment across multiple stakeholders comprised of development team offering managing, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, sourcing, and management to achieve Fire productivity business goals.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 2+ years of experience in NPI, VE/CE, and/or product life cycle management.
- Knowledge of hardware and embedded product development.
- Understanding of Agile development for Hardware and Software with an understanding of PI planning, sprint planning, and tools such as Jira.
- Knowledge of Agile metrics and usage of performance indicators.
- Experience as a technical expert that is multi-disciplined in understanding mechanical, electronic, or software for system integration with related Hardware.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (UL/CSA/CE).
- Ability to create and present status reports when needed, highlighting the impact of external risk factors.
Nice to Have
- PMP or Agile certification.
- Experience as a group leader or people manager.
- Experience with tech electronic and mechanical projects.
- Very good written and spoken English, communication and negotiation skills, experience working in an international team, and ability to multitask.
