CitiPower and Powercor is looking for a Project Engineer to lead and coordinate high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective design and engineering services for transmission projects. In this role, you will focus on proactive design management, overseeing complex, multi-disciplinary design packages to support successful project delivery.
What You'll Do
- Ensure design outcomes meet scope and quality levels throughout the project lifecycle.
- Report on progress, maintain program tracking, and conduct fortnightly reviews of RFI, variation, risk registers, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate various disciplines including Underground, Overhead, Primary, Protection & Control, Secondary, Civil/Structural, Communications, and SCADA for the life of the project.
- Support CDMs during pre-scoping and scoping stages, continuing through project delivery in collaboration with PMs until final handover.
- Liaise with internal and external clients to represent and build the Design and Customer Services and PNS brands.
- Prepare design offer documents in accordance with scope, contractual requirements, and in conjunction with delivery partners.
- Manage day-to-day liaison with external contractors and consultants to facilitate project commencement and ongoing delivery.
- Lead and chair design project reviews, including Safety in Design activities.
- Prepare and review ITPs for FAT and SAT.
- Undertake audits of a variety of projects in the Design and Customer Programs team.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).
- Knowledge of the electrical distribution / transmission network, particularly design and compliance with Australian Standards.
- Experience in design management activities and processes, and managing multi-disciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance issues, the OHS Act, standards, and codes.
- Knowledge of bid and business development and project scoping processes.
Nice to Have
- A Project Management Qualification.
- Working knowledge of Powercor’s technical standards, construction practices, and estimating tools.
- A strong background in transmission project design.
