About the Role

General Dynamics NASSCO is hiring a Program Planner to maintain and align the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for New Construction Programs and Study Contracts. This onsite role involves detailed schedule analysis, monitoring performance, and collaborating closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, and Production groups to support shipbuilding objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and align the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for New Construction Programs and Study Contracts.
  • Support schedule development efforts with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Planning groups.
  • Monitor schedule performance and perform detailed schedule analysis.
  • Evaluate Critical Path Networks (CPN) and the overall logic of the program schedule.
  • Provide complex outfitting and steel work breakdown and sequencing based on established production rates.
  • Develop plans, schedules, budgets, or analysis independently.
  • Support process and problem analysis projects and assist in resolving planning problems.
  • Assist in the development of departmental procedures, work instructions, and training.
  • Provide manning projections across programs for internal needs.
  • Maintain and align the New Construction Major Milestones schedule to the overall IMS.
  • Ensure baseline build strategy, including design changes and facility improvements, is incorporated into the program schedule.
  • Identify the Critical Path and maintain consistent reporting.
  • Initiate and analyze the impact of process improvements.
  • Make presentations.

What We're Looking For

  • Knowledge of MACPAC, LMS, Open Plan, PC Analysis tools (e.g., Excel), and EVMS principles.
  • General understanding of Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) schedule requirements and how to align NASSCO's schedule to meet them.
  • Ability to effectively communicate schedule constraints, capacity challenges, manpower, and material requirements to all levels of management.
  • Experience performing process analysis to improve efficiency in Planning and either Production or Engineering.
  • Experience integrating the requirements and initiatives of Engineering, Material, Planning, and Production.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce complex material, rationales, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on cooperation, teamwork, and building confidence with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and willingness to accept new ideas and support departmental initiatives.
  • Ability to manage time and resources to complete work efficiently and on time.
  • General understanding of potential issues and stakeholders in assigned tasks, with the ability to solve problems with minimal direction.

Nice to Have

  • An Engineering, Business, Project Management, or equivalent technical degree.

Team & Environment

You will report to a Supervisor or Manager and interface regularly with Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, and Production groups.
