Draper is seeking a Program Manager 1 to facilitate and lead program capture, development, planning, and execution across our Air Force Strategic Systems portfolio. You will be accountable for developing new programs and establishing relationships with Draper's Air Force Strategic and National Lab customers, driving solutions through critical thinking and managing timely completion of multi-discipline programs.
What You'll Do
- Manage project planning and execution of individual or a collection of projects.
- Perform activity and resource planning in coordination with the assigned engineering lead.
- Manage all pre-contract and post-award contractual requirements, including protection of Draper proprietary data.
- Perform cost estimating and budget planning.
- Analyze and manage project risk, and manage reports and documentation from inception to close-out.
- Lead the development of proposals in a teaming fashion with engineering, program administration, and F&A.
- Effectively convey work results to the project team, business leads, and supervisors in oral and written form.
- Effectively integrate team member inputs into reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with customers through both program execution and business development activities.
- Regularly interact with customers and technical staff to bring new concepts and solutions to our sponsors.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field of study.
- 3-5 years of experience in a program-related area with functional or program management experience.
- Proficiency in earned value, risk, and change management.
- Strong program and project management skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and/or new applications.
- Knowledge and a proven track record of successful business interaction.
- Ability to be persuasive and a strong relationship builder.
- Excellent communications, presentation, and networking skills.
- Ability to travel on an as-needed basis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance. A Secret Clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
