About the Role

Phiture is hiring a Program Director, Forestry to provide vision, lead the program team, and steer this remote initiative towards becoming a model of excellence. This role is responsible for strategic growth, effective execution, and alignment with organizational goals.

What You'll Do

  • Lead weekly Level 10 meetings for the programs.
  • Oversee a team of 4-6 members and ensure their performance meets expectations.
  • Foster consistent communication with Hispanic Access teams to share activities, leverage thought leadership, and solve problems.
  • Provide coaching, support, and problem solving as needed.
  • Execute the Forestry Program’s vision and framework.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation.
  • Align program activities with Hispanic Access Foundation’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Focus on strategic and institutional partnerships rather than grantee-level engagement.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community leaders, faith-based leaders, collaborators, and sub awardees.
  • Represent the program with key stakeholders through networking, events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Identify and build new partnership opportunities to strengthen program reach.
  • Lead annual budget development for the Forestry Program and ensure adherence to organizational and project budgets.
  • Forecast and adjust budget as necessary to maximize outcomes.
  • Monitor spending and ensure compliance with government requirements.
  • Oversee Forestry Program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide high-level oversight of subawards and ensure effective, compliant grantmaking systems.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for funders, maintaining regular check-ins and providing updates.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and collaborate on grant proposals and funding strategies.
  • Assist in the reporting process.

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in program management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of community/climate issues, particularly those affecting Latino communities.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to provide strategic direction.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships to enhance program impact.
  • Experience in managing program budgets, including creation, monitoring, and adherence.
  • Ability to forecast and make budget adjustments to optimize outcomes.
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies and experience in cultivating relationships with funders.
  • Ability to provide input and support in grant proposal creation, reporting, and donor stewardship.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural backgrounds of Latino communities.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from various cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of the nonprofit sector and experience working with federal agencies.
  • A master's degree in a related field.

Team & Environment

You will lead a team of 4-6 members, providing strategic direction and oversight for the Forestry Program.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience.

Work Mode

This is a fully remote position with a flexible location. Preference may be given to candidates in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
