The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is seeking a Program Coordinator II to provide essential administrative and program support for statewide youth initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing the annual calendar for the State Youth Council (SYC) and Youth Advisory Council (YAC), while also assisting with the North Carolina State Government Internship Program and Lady Cardinal Mentorship Program.
What You'll Do
- Plan, implement, manage, and support the SYC and YAC programs.
- Develop internal procedures for the efficient management of the programs.
- Develop and implement promotional and public relations strategies to encourage appropriate participation.
- Maintain regular contact with program participants and local program advisors.
- Provide oversight of youth leadership programs including conference planning and staffing.
- Assist with planning, implementing, and managing the NC State Government Internship and Lady Cardinal Mentorship summer programs, including facilitating recruitment and selection.
- Handle logistics and materials for multiple conferences and events.
- Coordinate the State Youth Council Mini Grant program.
- Administer programs, prepare program documentation, agendas, and meeting minutes.
- Represent the Division for Women and Youth to the public, conducting outreach and education.
- Research information, plan conferences, and make logistical arrangements including travel and accommodations for council members.
- Prepare and disseminate newsletters.
- Anticipate conditions that may require immediate attention and handle them, keeping management and council chairs informed.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
Team & Environment
This position assists the Youth Program Coordinator III and provides support to sustain statewide services for members, boards, and youth leaders.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position.
