Cerritos College is looking for a Program Assistant II to join the Success Center, a central hub for student academic support. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting daily operations, maintaining program records, and coordinating front desk activities to ensure students receive effective assistance.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a college representative and liaison to local schools, community organizations, businesses, and government for a specially funded program.
- Schedule and conduct outreach and recruitment presentations to targeted students, schools, and community centers.
- Research student demographics and interests to enhance outreach and optimize recruitment.
- Coordinate and conduct campus tours for prospective students.
- Coordinate special events and guest speakers to raise program awareness.
- Monitor program course enrollment, review completions, and issue certificates.
- Maintain communication with enrolled students regarding their progress.
- Monitor attendance records, input positive attendance, and compile demographic data.
- Provide support for admissions and registration processes.
- Plan and implement programs to enhance student retention and academic achievement.
- Establish and maintain contact with schools, community organizations, businesses, and other agencies.
- Prepare program brochures, flyers, booklets, and announcements using desktop publishing.
- Represent the program at internal and external meetings as directed.
- Maintain budget records and program files.
- Recruit and direct hourly staff and student peer mentors.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings as needed.
- Participate in campus committees that promote student retention.
- Perform in-service training for customers.
- Prepare periodic reports on program compliance and performance.
- Maintain and update website pages using established formats.
- Input student and financial information into relational databases.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate's Degree or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in an administrative or program support capacity.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting student success, tutoring, or academic support programs in a community college environment.
- Experience scheduling, training, and supporting front desk staff or student workers in a busy service environment.
- Experience developing front desk procedures, workflows, or service processes.

Team & Environment
You will join the Success Center, which employs approximately 200 peer tutors. You'll work closely with staff and institutional research partners, reporting to a program director.
