As a Professional Sales Manager, you will shape and implement sales initiatives within designated markets, focusing on sustainable growth and strong brand visibility. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and optimize the distributor network, ensuring alignment with both financial goals and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute market-specific sales strategies to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
- Manage distributor appointments, credit limits, and performance to drive primary and secondary sales
- Conduct regular prescription audits and maintain updated customer databases for doctors and chemists
- Deliver science-led discussions with healthcare professionals to support ethical product promotion
- Organize and manage continuing medical education (CME) events based on customer and divisional needs
- Monitor sales performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to stay on track
- Ensure full customer coverage as defined by KPIs and maintain call frequency standards
- Collect and report market intelligence to inform strategic planning
- Lead compliance with business conduct policies, pharmacovigilance, and RCPA guidelines
- Participate in strategy reviews, training sessions, and professional workshops to support continuous improvement
Qualifications
Candidates should bring at least two years of field experience in sales or marketing, with strong communication skills and confidence in customer-facing roles. Prior exposure to pharmaceutical sales, particularly within multinational or leading Indian pharma organizations, is preferred. Experience in the relevant therapy area is an added advantage.
Work Environment
This role is based in Chennai with 100% field travel required. While remote work may be supported operationally, consistent on-ground presence is essential.
