APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is hiring a Production Superintendent to organize, schedule, and supervise our production crews. You will ensure the cost-effective production of clinker and cement according to quality specifications and plant goals while coordinating activities across maintenance, shipping, and quarry operations.

What You'll Do

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Prioritize, assign, and communicate tasks for production team employees.
Direct the production team and manage plant operations to achieve production goals, striving for continuous improvement.
Monitor, supervise, and evaluate the performance of hourly employees in the production process.
Perform hiring, recommend technical training, and administer discipline as needed.
Coordinate with control room personnel to quickly respond to production process problems.
Monitor quality control and collaborate with lab and production personnel to make adjustments for quality and specification compliance.
Collaborate with team members from prior and following shifts on production status, problems, and adjustments.
Ensure material streams from production units and transfer facilities are properly positioned and operating.
Support regular safety meetings to ensure proper safety procedures are understood and practiced.
Assure inspection of work areas for safety hazards and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Maintain records of employee overtime, absences, and vacations, and prepare daily time sheets.
Ensure proper pay scale codes and charge numbers are recorded for employees.
Monitor daily inventory of materials and ensure documentation is provided.
Inspect equipment and process systems to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process problems.
Assist with investigating and reporting accidents and incidents as required.
Investigate, recommend, and implement capital investments as needed.
Coordinate efforts with maintenance, shipping, quarry, and marine departments.
Assure accurate preparation of daily reports and maintain required production records.
Inspect equipment and process system breakdowns, determine repairs needed, write work orders, and coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance.
Ensure supplies and tools are maintained, and purchase or order supplies and equipment.
Supervise contractors working on shift-based projects.
