Berklee College of Music is hiring a Product Manager to drive innovation in digital music education delivery. You will be the strategic lead of a new cross-functional innovation team, defining, validating, and building breakthrough products using Berklee's world-class learning content.
What You'll Do
- Lead product discovery to identify unmet needs, pain points, and opportunities within music and education.
- Drive strategic vision and maintain a clear product strategy aligned with Berklee’s mission.
- Rapidly prototype and test product concepts, applying lean methodologies.
- Partner with developers, a learning strategist, and a project manager to bring new products from idea to MVP.
- Collaborate with an advisory committee to guide and validate the direction of the skunkworks initiative.
- Build business cases, define success metrics, and contribute to go-to-market and revenue planning.
What We're Looking For
- 5–10 years of experience in product management, innovation strategy, or startup leadership.
- Experience leading product discovery and development cycles end-to-end.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, timelines, and cross-functional teams in an agile or lean environment.
- Deep experience applying product-first frameworks such as Jobs to Be Done, Lean Startup, or Design Sprint models.
- Demonstrated success in building new products that went to market and generated revenue.
- Budgeting, presentation, and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills.
Nice to Have
- Background in EdTech, AI/ML-driven products, media, or music strongly preferred.
- Passion for and/or experience in music, music education, or related creative domains.
Team & Environment
You will lead a new cross-functional innovation team (a skunkworks operation) within the Division of Pre-College, Online, and Professional Programs (POPP). The team is a small, agile group of developers and learning strategists. You will partner with developers, a learning strategist, a project manager, and an advisory committee.
