Modine is hiring a Product Engineering Supervisor

Modine, a company focused on engineering a cleaner, healthier world, is seeking a Product Engineering Supervisor. This role reports to the Engineering Manager for the Data Center colocation group and is responsible for leading the design, development, and documentation of water chiller product designs within the Data Center group. You will lead a small team of multi-disciplined engineers while managing bespoke special air-cooled chiller designs.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of new Chiller products or modify existing ones to meet customer requirements, creating supporting documentation based on project scope, market needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of multi-disciplined engineers, setting clear goals and conducting performance evaluations.
• Manage finite element modeling and structural simulation for products, interpreting FEA results and recommending design changes to meet performance requirements.
• Support customer applications with heat transfer, energy, and chiller system designs.
• Review approval and manufacturing drawing packages.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field.
• 10-15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Prior experience with refrigeration and HVAC system design.
• A strong background in Chiller Engineering.
• Experience with FEA/CFD software.
• Knowledge of Thermodynamics and Fluid dynamics of Chillers.
• Excellent understanding of the vapor compression cycle, PH diagram, and psychometrics.
• Ability to evaluate and design electromechanical products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and interact effectively with internal and external personnel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of compliance requirements for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks or Creo.
