Aledade is looking for a Privacy Counsel to join our Business Operations – Legal department. In this role, you will provide crucial legal guidance on privacy, data protection, and related regulatory matters that are central to our mission.
What You'll Do
- Provide expert legal counsel on privacy and data protection laws and regulations
- Develop and implement privacy policies, procedures, and training programs
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and advise on data processing activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure privacy-by-design principles are integrated into products and processes
- Monitor global privacy regulatory developments and assess their impact on the company
- Support incident response and data breach notification procedures
- Advise on contractual privacy and data security requirements
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership
- 5+ years of dedicated privacy and data protection legal experience, preferably in-house
- Deep expertise in HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other relevant privacy frameworks
- Proven ability to translate complex legal requirements into actionable business guidance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a non-legal audience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or similar certification
- Experience in the healthcare or health-tech sector
- Background advising on technology transactions and vendor management
- Familiarity with cybersecurity laws and incident management
