Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of real-time gameplay elements that shape player experience, aligned with senior creative direction.
- Design and refine combat systems, including player powers, enemy AI, weapon behavior, and camera responses.
- Work closely with engineering, art, and design teams to prototype, test, and finalize combat features throughout production.
- Create and manage detailed design documentation to ensure consistency and clarity across all teams.
- Use data from playtests and player input to adjust and improve combat balance and responsiveness.
- Design and manage combat scenarios and encounter flow in coordination with level and story designers.
- Define performance benchmarks and design standards for environments and enemy placements to enhance gameplay quality.
- Guide and support junior design staff while helping improve team workflows and design practices.
- Ensure all combat-related components meet high standards for responsiveness, enjoyment, and polish.
Compensation
Actual compensation varies by location, experience, skills, and knowledge.
