Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of a cohesive academic vision using an integrated curriculum approach
- Oversee the coaching and performance evaluation of instructional staff
- Apply student assessment data methodically to inform and improve teaching strategies
- Optimize the effectiveness of blended learning environments where implemented
- Design, launch, and manage all school-wide academic programs
- Regularly evaluate curriculum quality, teaching methods, lesson plans, and classroom instruction through structured observations
- Promote diverse, research-backed teaching techniques and resources that support student growth
- Ensure all students achieve at high levels through challenging and engaging academic experiences
- Drive progress toward goals in academic performance, school climate, and state-mandated benchmarks such as AYP
- Support the adoption and execution of curriculum aligned to academic standards
- Conduct weekly reviews of teacher lesson plans
- Carry out routine classroom walkthroughs followed by constructive feedback sessions with teachers
- Take ownership of student success in both academic and social-emotional domains
- Act as the primary academic leader by cultivating a professional culture centered on continuous improvement
- Shape or refine school-wide behavioral systems and cultural initiatives focused on positive conduct
- Collaborate with staff to organize team meetings, professional development days, and data review sessions
- Design and deliver ongoing, high-quality professional learning for educators
- Ensure instructional training reflects current, evidence-based teaching methods
- Enforce behavior management strategies that promote respectful and orderly classrooms
- Encourage student motivation through positive teacher relationships and reinforcement techniques
- Lead and supervise the school’s special education programming
- Monitor and support academic progress for students in special education
- Manage summer learning programs and extended-day academic offerings as needed
- Build a cohesive school community by fostering respectful, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
- Provide effective, team-oriented leadership for teachers, staff, and administrative personnel
