The Principal Product Manager – Platform Observability at Ffive will define and drive the long-term observability vision across the F5 Distributed Cloud SaaS platform. This role is critical in establishing a robust telemetry foundation that supports operational excellence and delivers actionable customer insights in traffic visibility, WAF telemetry, and API protection.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the multi-year roadmap for platform observability.
- Define and drive the integration with external logging systems.
- Collaborate with service product leaders to deliver differentiated capabilities to provide insights on traffic visibility, WAF telemetry, and API protection.
- Align observability investments with SaaS scale, cost optimization, and reliability goals.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of Product Management experience with at least 3+ years in building B2B SaaS products.
- Knowledge in Distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on familiarity with observability tools such as: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, Elastic, Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Experience building products for multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of L4–L7 networking concepts (TCP, TLS, HTTP, gRPC, APIs).
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through delivery in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience building observability product or service.
- Experience in High-scale logging pipelines (Kafka, Event Hubs, Kinesis), Schema governance (Avro/OTLP) and cost-efficient telemetry architectures.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes observability, eBPF-based telemetry and OpenTelemetry standards.
- Experience driving automation initiatives (incident automation, self-healing systems).
- Exposure to AI-assisted observability or SRE tooling.
- Experience in networking/security-focused SaaS (CDN, WAF, Zero Trust, Edge platforms).
- Experience in API governance and platform programmability strategy to ensure secure, consistent, and scalable integrations.
