Responsibilities
- Shape and execute the long-term product vision for Medicaid offerings, ensuring alignment with market trends, client expectations, and compliance mandates.
- Act as the lead product authority, prioritizing feature development to enhance Medicaid functionality, adaptability, client integration speed, and system performance.
- Identify avenues to grow Medicaid service capabilities, including integration with Value-Based Contracting frameworks and compliance with changing program rules.
- Function as a senior product strategist within Agile/Scrum teams, managing backlogs, refining requirements, and ensuring delivery aligns with strategic goals.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to accelerate development velocity, eliminate roadblocks, and ensure timely, high-quality product releases.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Product Managers and Business Systems Analysts contributing to the Medicaid product portfolio.
- Oversee new Medicaid client implementations, ensuring system configurations, workflows, and data needs are accurately defined and executed.
- Work with implementation teams to convert client-specific needs into reusable, scalable product features instead of one-time customizations.
- Ensure seamless handoff from implementation to ongoing operations for Medicaid clients.
- Partner with Government Programs, Fee-For-Service, and Operations leaders to uncover inefficiencies and drive technology-driven improvements.
- Incorporate both client feedback and internal operational insights into the product development roadmap.
- Coordinate with compliance, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure systems meet federal, state, and industry standards.
- Engage with clients, industry organizations, and internal groups to track changes in Medicaid policies and market dynamics.
- Support pre-sales activities and respond to RFPs with product and technical expertise.
- Lead and manage a team within the product organization, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, work assignment, and conflict resolution in line with company policies.
- Serve as a client-facing role requiring strong interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive situations, respond promptly to needs, solicit feedback, and fulfill client commitments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and 8 years as a subject matter expert in related domains, with at least 4 years managing individual contributors or leading other managers. May be substituted with 5 years of company experience plus leadership training and mentorship by a senior executive (VP+ level) completed within 12 months of hire.
- Advanced skills in MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook for creating complex documents, managing schedules, and data analysis.
- Working knowledge of business systems such as SQL and Salesforce.
- Proven ability to identify complex challenges and apply analytical and critical thinking to develop innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience collaborating on cross-functional initiatives and engaging stakeholders across business and IT functions.
- Ability to define product requirements and maintain detailed project plans and financial analyses.
- Track record of positive client and team interactions, accountability for service commitments, and consistent delivery of results.
- Skilled in problem identification, data gathering, fact establishment, and drawing logical conclusions.
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions in mathematical or visual formats and manage abstract and concrete variables.
- Familiarity with mathematical concepts used to evaluate product costs and inform pricing strategies.
- Ability to apply mathematical reasoning involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world business scenarios.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical documents, legal texts, and government regulations.
- Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
- Capable of presenting information clearly and responding to inquiries from executives, clients, and external parties.
