About the Role

The role involves leading actuarial projects related to Medicaid programs, delivering strategic insights, supervising analysis, and serving as a primary contact for clients needing actuarial and regulatory compliance support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead actuarial evaluations for Medicaid programs including rate development and risk adjustment
  • Oversee financial modeling for state healthcare initiatives
  • Manage client relationships with government agencies and managed care organizations
  • Supervise the preparation of actuarial reports and regulatory filings
  • Provide expert guidance on Medicaid policy changes and their financial impact
  • Direct teams in conducting reserve analyses and claims projections
  • Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and state-specific requirements
  • Develop pricing frameworks for public health insurance bids
  • Support audits and regulatory examinations with actuarial documentation
  • Collaborate with consultants on program design and benefit analysis
  • Present findings to stakeholders, including state officials and executives
  • Mentor junior actuaries in technical and client-facing skills
  • Coordinate with legal and policy experts on healthcare reform initiatives
  • Evaluate provider payment methodologies and capitation rates
  • Assess solvency and financial viability of Medicaid plans
  • Conduct trend analysis for healthcare utilization and cost drivers
  • Review data quality and assumptions used in actuarial models
  • Lead responses to client RFPs and proposal development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state Medicaid regulations
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality actuarial deliverables
