About the Role

Barclays is looking for a Principal Investments Support Analyst to play a key role in Pune. You will support the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects to plan, budget, and agreed quality standards. This role involves spearheading the evolution of our digital landscape by harnessing technology to revolutionize digital offerings and ensure exceptional customer experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve complex technical issues, minimising disruption.
  • Provide technical support for the service management function to resolve complex issues for specific clients or groups.
  • Develop the support model and service offering to improve service for customers and stakeholders.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and use monitoring tools to identify, prevent, and address potential issues.
  • Maintain a knowledge base with detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference and self-service.
  • Analyze system logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes of hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Focus on automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity, front office support, and stakeholder management.
  • Identify and remediate, or raise through appropriate process, potential service-impacting risks and issues.
  • Proactively assess support activities, implementing automations to maintain stability and drive efficiency.
  • Actively tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerting to ensure issues are known when they occur.
  • Lead and supervise a team, guiding professional development, allocating work, and coordinating resources.
  • Take responsibility for end results of a team’s operational processing and activities.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to.
  • Provide 2nd Line application and business process assistance.
  • Focus on Continuous Service Improvement (CSI), driving prioritizations with in-depth Root Cause Analysis of problems.
  • Manage Change Management, including implementation of change, release, and approvals.
  • Work in shifts as per schedule and participate in weekend or after-hours work for critical business initiatives.
  • Monitor service provisioning SLAs and various KPIs, reviewing and recertifying SLAs and OLAs periodically.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of known defects, issues, processes, and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience providing 2nd Line application and business process assistance.
  • Focus on CSI, with the ability to drive prioritizations and perform in-depth RCA of problems.
  • Experience with Change Management, including implementation of change, release, and approvals.
  • Ability to work in shifts as scheduled and participate in weekend or after-hours work for critical initiatives.
  • Experience monitoring service provisioning SLAs and KPIs, and reviewing/recertifying SLAs and OLAs periodically.
  • Experience maintaining a knowledge base of known defects, issues, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Risk, Finance and Treasury functions.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in your assigned area of expertise.
  • Thorough understanding of underlying principles and concepts within your area of expertise.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team, guiding professional development, allocating work, and coordinating resources.
  • Ability to partner with other functions and business areas.
  • Ability to make evaluative judgements based on factual analysis, paying attention to detail.
  • Ability to resolve problems by selecting solutions through acquired technical experience.
  • Ability to guide and persuade team members and communicate complex information.
  • Ability to act as a contact point for stakeholders outside your immediate function, building a network of contacts.

Nice to Have

  • Technical troubleshooting skills on Unix.
  • PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Autosys.
  • Awareness of Hadoop components like Impala and YARN.
  • Expertise in MS SQL queries and good understanding of other RDBMS databases.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2 and handling S3 buckets.
  • Python knowledge will be an added advantage.
