Lead and shape a remote tax practice focused on serving innovative clients. In this role, you’ll manage client engagements from start to finish, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations while delivering forward-thinking planning strategies tailored to entrepreneurs and small businesses.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the preparation and review of individual and business tax returns, ensuring precision and adherence to current standards
- Guide clients through complex tax scenarios, including entity structuring, compensation planning, and retirement design
- Mentor and manage a team of tax professionals, setting performance benchmarks and fostering professional growth
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries, managing both business and personal tax matters efficiently
- Develop tax projections and conduct scenario modeling using advanced software tools to support client decision-making
- Research evolving tax laws and apply insights to client strategies, covering income, payroll, and sales tax areas
- Collaborate on entity formations and advise on tax implications of organizational changes
- Monitor key performance metrics to improve team efficiency and service quality
- Support clients in accessing government programs and incentives relevant to their operations
What We’re Looking For
- Active CPA license with at least 8 years of public accounting experience
- Deep familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero, QBO, Sage, or NetSuite
- Hands-on experience with major tax preparation software and digital practice management tools
- Strong client communication skills, with a track record of building trust and managing expectations
- Proactive mindset—someone who identifies opportunities to improve systems and client outcomes
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding confidential information
- Proven ability to lead remotely, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines consistently
