About the Role

Wipro is hiring a Principal Consultant to provide expert advisory and lead the delivery of consulting solutions that drive clear business value for our clients. The role combines deep consulting expertise with client relationship management and team leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Act as an Ambassador for Wipro tenets and values.
  • Manage consulting projects or work streams, and quality assure other work streams/projects/programs.
  • Be client focused and tenacious in approach to solving client issues and achieving clients objectives.
  • Be responsible for work stream budgets and assuring quality of deliverables.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients.
  • Coach, mentor and motivate team and client staff.
  • Be effective at engaging with clients and extracting information.
  • Be responsible for ensuring project administration is up to date (e.g., SoW, tagging).
  • Ensure high levels of individual utilisation achievement.
  • Sell laterally and vertically when operating, identify leads and convert them into opportunities and proposals.
  • Build relationships and maintain an effective network of client contacts at buying level.
  • Lead marketing and prospecting activities to populate the sales funnel for specified accounts.
  • Participate in sales meetings and build relationships with client managers.
  • Lead smaller scale meetings with sales teams and lead proposal development.
  • Contribute to and lead RFP/RFI efforts by leveraging Wipro’s global footprint and end-to-end consulting capability.
  • Play a key role in opportunity identification and raising potential pursuits to practice leadership.
  • Develop insight and point of view into chosen industry and technology trends and share them with the wider practice/GCG.
  • Lead assignment thought leadership and ensure track records are written up as case studies.
  • Deliver all Wipro admin in a timely manner (timesheets, appraisals expenses, etc.).
  • Ensure the team leverages IP and knowledge assets from the central knowledge repository.
  • Propose new service offerings/capabilities.
  • Contribute towards go-to-market solutions to deliver tangible business outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor junior consultants.
  • Monitor and curtail talent attrition.
  • Drive engagement with other consulting and delivery teams to enhance collaboration and design tailored client solutions.
  • Create reusable IP/assets and make self visible as a thought leader.
  • Support business performance for direct consulting against relevant quarterly/annual targets.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycle for specific pursuits.
  • Improve quality of consulting by flawlessly leading/delivering strategic advisory/transformation engagements.
  • Enable pull through business/ impact for Wipro through front end consulting engagements/deal pursuit/client relationships.
  • Elevate Wipro positioning in existing accounts through thought leadership and actively contributing to clients’ strategic transformations.
  • Lead the development of thought leadership/offerings/assets for the practice to support business growth.
  • Generate growth and integration across the consulting services, growing client relationship profile and supporting the achievement of the Wipro-wide account objectives.
  • Work with GCP/CCP/GCG Account Lead/Account team to grow consulting service portfolio, ensuring integration of propositions and collaboration across GCG.
  • Grow consulting team talent at B3 and below levels in line with business demand and in line with Consulting Competency Framework.

  • Ability to build relationships and maintain an effective network of client contacts at buying level.
  • Ability to lead proposal development to a high standard.
  • Ability to develop insight and point of view into chosen industry and technology trends.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior consultants.
  • Ability to drive engagement with other consulting and delivery teams.
  • Ability to create reusable IP/assets and be visible as a thought leader.
  • Ability to support business performance for direct consulting against targets.
  • Ability to lead end-to-end sales cycle for specific pursuits.
  • Ability to lead/deliver strategic advisory/transformation engagements.
  • Ability to enable pull through business/ impact for Wipro.
  • Ability to elevate Wipro positioning in existing accounts through thought leadership.

This role may have managerial responsibilities in leading a team of consultants.
