GE HealthCare is looking for a Principal Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure for our Digital Workplace team. You will architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions on AWS and Azure for a platform supporting over 60,000 users, drive critical migration initiatives, and advocate for DevOps best practices.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architectures (AWS and Azure) for Digital Workplace applications.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, Operations, Cloud, and Cyber teams to ensure solutions meet business and compliance requirements.
- Design strategy for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes and build Standard Work for consistency.
- Support the DevOps team by designing and developing IaC scripts and automating deployments.
- Lead the separation and migration of Digital Workplace applications from GE Corp AWS to GE Aerospace AWS infrastructure.
- Guide and define best practices for Docker/Kubernetes environments (AWS EKS, Azure AKS).
- Leverage monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, Grafana, Splunk, ELK) to ensure system reliability.
- Implement automated lifecycle management technologies (vulnerability management, patching, tagging) at scale.
- Advocate for a DevOps mindset, mentor team members, and drive adoption of best practices.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and trends to drive innovation and future roadmaps.
- Drive visibility for Cloud environments and evangelize for stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years professional experience OR Associate’s degree with 13 years OR High School Diploma with 15 years.
- Minimum 5 years experience in public cloud (AWS and Azure).
- Minimum 4 years experience managing infrastructure in AWS.
- Minimum 4 years experience in DevOps and Infrastructure domain.
- Minimum 4 years experience leading large scale enterprise projects in Cloud environments.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information (for non-protected individuals).
Nice to Have
- Primary recent role as infrastructure architect, principal software engineer/cloud engineer, or Principal SRE.
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration (AKS/EKS).
- Strong programming skills (Python, Java, Go) and scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
- Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux) and system engineering.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards for cloud.
- Experience delivering infrastructure for regulated workloads.
- Ability to influence and create new designs, architectures, standards for large-scale systems.
- Azure or AWS certification.
- Experience with observability tools (New Relic, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
- In-depth knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Proven track record leading large-scale cloud migration projects.
- Experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity.
- Prior experience with Digital Workplace services.
- Comfortable with different Agile software development methodologies.
- Architecting Business solutions for enterprise applications.
- Ability to integrate disparate systems to optimize operational processes.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles.
- Able to influence peers and leadership cross-functionally with data-driven solutions.
