CCH Tagetik (Wolters Kluwer) is hiring a Principal Clinical Content - Physician to architect advanced clinical decision support (CDS) tools. In this role, you will transform clinical content into structured, high-fidelity decision trees used for workflow-integrated CDS, serving as the critical bridge between clinical expertise, technical structure, and informatics needs.
What You'll Do
- Translate draft CDS content into complete decision trees using a proprietary no-code authoring platform.
- Program associated logic, clinical text, branching conditions, action steps, and order sets.
- Ensure all decision trees are internally coherent, clinically safe, and aligned with intended clinical workflows.
- Apply clinical knowledge to identify errors, inconsistencies, or logic gaps during programming.
- Flag content or reasoning issues to Deputy Editors and collaborate on resolution.
- Verify that structured content accurately reflects source clinical evidence and editorial intent.
- Report issues, bugs, or usability challenges with the proprietary authoring software.
- Collaborate with engineering teams by reproducing issues, reviewing fixes, and validating improvements.
- Provide structured feedback to help guide tool enhancements.
- Participate in efforts to streamline editorial workflows, improve content production, and support scalability.
- Engage in projects exploring automation, including the use of AI tooling under editorial supervision.
- Suggest improvements to templates, authoring workflows, and quality assurance approaches.
- Create new CDS content under the direction of a Deputy Editor, as time allows.
- Assist in updates or maintenance for CDS content across products, including UpToDate Pathways.
What We're Looking For
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with clinical experience.
- Strong ability to think logically and model clinical decisions in structured formats.
- High attention to detail and commitment to patient‑safety-focused content.
- Comfort working with proprietary software tools and willingness to learn new systems.
- Ability to identify clinical or logical errors and communicate them clearly.
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with clinical informatics.
- Experience with clinical decision support, clinical pathways, or structured algorithm development.
- Familiarity with clinical informatics or medical terminology standards (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD).
- Experience troubleshooting or working with product/engineering teams.
- Exposure to medical editing or structured content development.
