Vay is hiring a Principal AI Engineer to build cutting-edge Physical AI systems that navigate complex real-world environments. You will be responsible for creating Vay’s foundation model for autonomous driving and deploying it in the commercial fleet to improve performance and unit economics.
What You'll Do
- Research and develop state-of-the-art foundation models for real-world autonomous driving.
- Design and build end-to-end AI pipelines and data flywheels that continuously improve model performance.
- Apply machine learning to 3D traffic scene understanding and multimodal sensor data.
- Define and implement robust evaluation methods for real-world driving conditions.
- Optimize models for efficient and scalable deployment on production hardware.
- Collaborate closely with autonomy, data, and systems teams to bring models into production.
What We're Looking For
- Considerable previous experience building and deploying end-to-end ML models in autonomous driving, robotics, or a closely related domain.
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on experience in applying Machine Learning to 3D traffic scene understanding.
- Proficiency in Machine Learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong experience programming with Python.
- Enjoy bridging research quality work with production readiness and performance constraints.
