Énergir is hiring a Principal Advisor, Climate Methodology and Calculations. This strategic and highly specialized role sits at the heart of the Group's climate governance, ensuring the quality, compliance, and credibility of published climate data. You will act as the methodological reference for GHG emission calculations and support Group entities in applying rigorous and harmonized practices, directly contributing to our ambition to be part of the solution to fight climate change.
What You'll Do
- Document and maintain methodologies for calculating GHG emissions and climate indicators, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support Group entities in applying chosen methodologies and aligning practices, acting with a supportive posture.
- Perform emission calculations (including Scope 1, 2, and 3 as needed) and prepare indicators for certain subsidiaries; present results and support audits/internal requests related to produced data.
- Validate the consistency and quality of data before integration into internal and external reports, collaborating with environmental and quality assurance teams.
- Recommend tools, methods, and automations for collection, conversion, or calculation to optimize the integrity and efficiency of disclosure processes.
- Track the evolution of standards and regulations in Canada, Quebec, and the United States/Vermont; propose adjustments to methodologies and contribute to exchanges and representations when required.
- As backup, administer and verify elements related to the process of creating compliance units in the Credit Creation and Tracking System (SCSC/CATS) for the Clean Fuel Regulations.
What We're Looking For
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in GHG calculation, climate reporting, or regulatory compliance.
- Concrete experience in GHG emission calculations, with the ability to understand the mechanics of calculations and detect inconsistencies or errors.
- University degree in environment, engineering, data science, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both oral and written.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Director of Climate Governance. This role involves direct team collaboration and work within a matrix structure.
