Zurich Canada is hiring a Pricing Analyst II to join our strategic Motor PL area. In this role, you will be responsible for building and positioning automobile insurance prices, focusing on market expansion and maximizing results.
What You'll Do
- Develop pricing intelligence and monitor the portfolio, balancing competitiveness and technical profitability.
- Train pricing, fraud, and acceptance models, comparing mathematical and statistical techniques and continuously testing new variables.
- Monitor the performance of predictive models through monitoring reports, evaluating the need for adjustments or improvements.
- Research and test new variables to enhance models and increase competitiveness.
- Calculate IBNR and apply it to risk premium estimation.
- Build the technical price, from adjusting frequency and severity models, through loading expenses, commissions, and taxes, to the final price definition.
- Manage the entire pricing chain, implementing models, loadings, and price adjustments in the pricing engine.
- Monitor profitability KPIs, identifying deviations, premium deficiencies, and opportunities for strategic and tactical adjustments.
- Interact with the Auto product team, understanding needs and developing studies and analyses to support decisions.
- Prepare presentations and materials for executive forums.
- Ensure operational excellence, ensuring full compliance with information security policies and internal controls.
- Explore and adapt innovative models, pricing techniques, and tools from academia and other sectors for auto insurance, focusing on business needs and generating competitive advantage.
What We're Looking For
- Complete undergraduate degree.
- Proven experience in modeling (GLM) and insurance pricing.
- Solid knowledge of programming and logic (SQL and Python).
- Experience manipulating large databases.
- Familiarity with actuarial models for IBNR calculation.
- Experience building technical prices, from risk model estimation to final premium composition.
- Ability to translate technical analyses into simple language and high-impact presentations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning models (Random Forest, SVM, Neural Networks, XGBoost, LightGBM, and others).
