Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Pre-K Director and Lead Teacher for a Before and/or After School program. This combined leadership and teaching role involves overseeing program operations and guiding a high-quality early childhood program, while directly supporting children's development through engaging learning experiences.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily program operations while maintaining OCFS licensing compliance.
- Recruit, train, and support a team dedicated to high-quality childcare.
- Manage program records, student files, and regulatory documentation.
- Partner with families, staff, and community partners to support enrollment and engagement.
- Maintain classroom environments and ensure materials meet ECERS quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with marketing and leadership teams on program growth.
- Develop and implement engaging weekly lesson plans using Creative Curriculum.
- Create a safe, inclusive environment that supports children’s development across all learning domains.
- Conduct developmental observations and share progress during parent-teacher conferences.
- Support smooth transitions for children entering preschool or kindergarten.
- Mentor assistant teachers, interns, and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate attendance, meal logs, and student records.
What We're Looking For
- Must meet one of the listed education/experience combinations (Bachelor's degree with 12 ECE credits + 1 year teaching + 1 year supervision, Associate's degree + plan + 2 years teaching + 2 years supervision, NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential + 1 year teaching + 1 year supervision, or CDA + plan + 2 years teaching + 2 years supervision).
- Must be willing and able to pass NYS OCFS background check.
- Medically cleared to perform all job duties.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Friendly, professional, reliable, and team-oriented.
- Able to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Able to lead and motivate a team.
- Commitment to providing quality childcare.

- Compensation: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour.
