BMW Group is seeking a Praktikant Passive Sicherheit und KI-gestützte Validierung to join our team developing modern validation methods for crash simulations and real-world tests. In this role, you'll focus on leveraging Machine Learning and AI within the Front Restraint Systems team to validate simulation models and analyze crash tests.
What You'll Do
- Support the development of AI-based tools for validating front restraint system simulations.
- Contribute to the conception and implementation of a method for analyzing airbag deployment from crash videos using AI.
- Assist in developing, training, and evaluating Machine Learning and Computer Vision models.
- Help integrate custom algorithms into existing validation workflows and tools.
- Coordinate analysis and visualization of results and derive evaluation metrics.
- Develop ideas for new AI evaluation methods and tools, implementing them as prototypes with regular feedback.
What We're Looking For
- Enrollment in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable degree program.
- Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Solid knowledge in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
- Team and communication skills combined with a structured work approach.
- Confident English and good German language skills, both spoken and written.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of Finite Element Methods and explicit crash simulations (e.g., LS-DYNA).
