The BMW Group is seeking a specialist to develop modern, AI-supported validation methods for crash simulations and real-world tests within the field of passive safety. As part of the team for front restraint systems, you will be instrumental in building innovative tools that leverage machine learning and computer vision to validate simulation models and analyze crash tests.
What You'll Do
- Develop AI-supported tools for validating front restraint system simulations.
- Design and implement a method for analyzing airbag deployment from crash videos using AI.
- Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning and computer vision models.
- Integrate your own algorithms into existing validation workflows and tools.
- Analyze and visualize results, deriving clear evaluation metrics.
- Independently develop ideas for new AI evaluation methods and tools, implementing them as prototypes.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in computer science, data science, computational engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a comparable field.
- Very good programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Solid knowledge of machine learning and computer vision.
- Fluent English and good German language skills, both spoken and written.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, paired with a structured and independent working style.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of finite element methods and explicit crash simulations (e.g., LS-DYNA).
