The Indiana Department of Correction and Madison State Hospital seek a Practice Model Consultant to embed best practices into daily operations across the agency. You will mentor, coach, train, and consult with staff to increase the fidelity of child welfare practices, collaborating on statewide improvement projects that elevate family engagement and drive outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver regional pre-service sessions for your assigned division.
- Provide content expertise to curriculum writers and become an expert for new training needs, weaving the agency's mission, vision, and Practice Model throughout.
- Assist resource parents with accessing necessary online training modules.
- Travel on most workdays to inspect, audit, or investigate sites and write detailed reports.
- Facilitate coaching, learning labs, and in-service trainings; provide one-on-one consulting to refine skills.
- Consult with staff on family-centered practice and MVP implementation; support team meetings and case consultations; provide written feedback to leadership.
- Collect and analyze data from systems like CQI, PMR/CFSR, KidTraks, Tableau, RPS, and Safety Culture to identify regional barriers and recommend solutions.
- Act as a liaison between the central office and regional staff to implement new policies, align training with field practice, and deliver updates.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
- Ability to travel statewide overnight for training delivery.
- Ability to provide training during evening and weekend hours to accommodate resource parents.
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice to Have
- Completion of a relevant Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge and subject matter expertise in child development, child welfare, family systems, or related behavioral health topics.
- Ability to promote teamwork by collaborating with other staff development members and field operations personnel.
- Ability to provide positive feedback and address concerns as they arise.
- Knowledge of issues related to resource and adoptive parents regarding the Resource Parent Trainers position.
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and a willingness to learn basic MS Excel and Access.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to convey written information clearly and concisely.
