Canada Post is hiring a Postmaster to be the face of postal services in Ruthilda, Saskatchewan. In this role, you will represent the post office, promote and sell products to the public and businesses, and ensure a dynamic, customer-focused operation. You are responsible for the overall administration and community commitment of the post office in a multi-priority environment.
What You'll Do
- Liaise with the community regarding Canada Post products and services.
- Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses.
- Provide a suitable premises in a central community location within 30 days of assignment.
- Administer the post office to meet opening hours and delivery expectations.
- Manage revenue, values, and postal assets.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Assist with effective management of mail delivery routes.
- Place sorted mail into post office boxes.
- Potentially supervise staff.
- Keep the post office clean and presentable, maintaining cleanliness per Canada Post standards.
- Operate the post office with appropriate diligence and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalent and business administration experience.
- Premises owned or leased that are suitable, well-located, and easily accessible, available one month before the hire date.
- Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
- Knowledge of regulations, methods, and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services.
- Adequate physical fitness and ability to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for long periods.
- Premises must be fully accessible to persons with disabilities and available for review and approval at least one month before hiring.
- Willingness to be responsible for rental fees, heating, lighting, cleaning, routine general maintenance, snow removal, municipal taxes, and necessary liability and property insurance coverage.
Team & Environment
You will report to a Superintendent (or local area manager).
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $22.10 per hour.
- A rental allowance of $2,283.00 per year to help offset operating costs.
- A yearly supplementary allowance may be offered to help offset costs associated with providing premises.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position in Ruthilda, Saskatchewan.
