University of Pittsburgh was looking for a Post Doctoral Associate

The University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Post Doctoral Associate to join a research initiative focused on AI for healthcare. This role applies computer science and engineering expertise to advance the analysis of physiological signals and health risk stratification under expert supervision.

What You'll Do

  • Write software code in Python, C/C++, and Stata/Mata to optimize existing code for signal processing and numerical analysis of ECG, PPG, and other physiological waveforms.
  • Convert existing Matlab and Stata code to C/C++, Python, and Mata for body signal waveform analysis and personalized health risk stratification.
  • Be primarily responsible for day-to-day software and computing tasks, including programming and maintaining computing hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Ensure data quality and security, train and manage junior students and staff, and perform statistical analyses.
  • Present research results orally and in writing through conference and journal article publications.
  • Coordinate with collaborators and project members, and routinely prepare and submit progress reports to Dr. DeMazumder and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit manuscripts and grant applications in a timely manner.

What We're Looking For

  • PhD degree, either awarded or in progress, in computer sciences, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in and prior experience with digital signal processing.
  • Proficiency in and prior experience with feature extraction from time series data.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Matlab.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency or interest in gaining proficiency in Stata/Mata statistical programming.

You will work under the guidance and supervision of leading experts in mathematical sciences, healthcare engineering, and clinician-scientists in Dr. DeMazumder’s lab, reporting directly to Dr. DeMazumder.
