About the Role
Provide comprehensive podiatry services to elderly patients in senior care facilities, focusing on diabetic foot care, wound treatment, fall prevention, and routine foot health.
Responsibilities
- Deliver podiatric care to seniors living in long-term care and assisted living facilities
- Manage diabetic foot conditions to prevent complications and amputations
- Evaluate patients for fall risks and apply preventive strategies
- Recommend and implement solutions to reduce pressure-related foot issues
- Treat various wounds including venous, pressure, and injury-related ulcers
- Assess and manage pain in the heel, ankle, and foot
- Perform toenail trimming, debridement, and nail removal procedures
- Conduct regular nail and foot maintenance for patients
- Document patient care and progress using an electronic medical record system
