Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is looking for a Plant Operator to be a vital part of our team in Annandale, NJ. In this role, you will operate and maintain critical equipment to achieve 100% up-time and protect our clients' assets by ensuring all building engineering systems perform as intended. Your work will be essential in a collaborative team environment focused on professionalism and meeting client needs.
What You'll Do
- Operate and monitor the central utilities plant and Honeywell building automation system, including a 4 megawatt Solar Co-gen Turbine, HRSG, boilers, chillers, and auxiliary systems.
- Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, recording test results and equipment malfunction details.
- Perform basic operator preventive maintenance tasks and provide work direction to maintenance workers.
- Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies by preparing purchase orders and monitoring equipment conditions.
- Oversee contractor activities within the building for both facility and tenant operations.
- Identify safety hazards and implement remediation measures to ensure safe working environments.
- Maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation, including building drawings and regulatory compliance records.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum Blue Seal Stationary Engineer License issued by the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry (Red or Gold seals also considered).
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders/scaffolding, and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7/365 operation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Nice to Have
- Experience with central utilities plant operations and building automation systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and reliability-based maintenance.
- Training capabilities for operations staff development.
- Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
- Leadership experience in developing procedures and operating plans.

- Compensation range: $73,000 – $78,000 USD per year.
