Lumen Technologies is hiring a Planning Engineer

Lumen Technologies is hiring a Planning Engineer II to apply approved technologies and architectures to network growth projects. In this role, you'll work on a variety of projects involving ISP and OSP facilities, including cables, conduits, and huts, to support new services and expansion.

What You'll Do

• Develop and define plans for new plant construction or modifications to existing facilities.
• Prepare plans and specifications, including gathering field data.
• Ensure the most feasible, practical, and economical means are utilized to complete the work.
• Provide cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.
• Monitor and control project expenditures.
• Analyze local and long haul network systems and/or customer network environments.
• Directly support logistics and materials management.
• Support the acquisition and implementation of network-specific materials.
• Oversee the installation, construction, and testing of plant facilities.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience and knowledge in Engineering and OSP Fiber planning.
• Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with an intense focus on quality.
• Proven track record as an adept and effective project manager.
• Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Positive and professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor.
• Ability to travel as needed, with notice.

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices and procedures, including conduit placement, fiber pulling, and site development for remote equipment.
• Previous experience with supervision of projects, project management, reading blueprints and schematics, and knowledge of building codes and relevant laws.

• Location Based Pay Ranges: $66,375 - $88,500 in AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY. $69,694 - $92,925 in CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI. $73,013 - $97,350 in AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
