Google is looking for a Pixel Hardware System Integration Engineer to join a team developing custom silicon solutions for direct-to-consumer products. You will design and build the hardware and software technologies that power Google's services, taking systems from concept through to high-volume manufacturing.
What You'll Do
- Design Google's future products by managing architecture selection, electrical design and validation.
- Work with all cross-functional teams (e.g., software, product design, industrial design, program management, manufacturing operations) with emphasis on incorporating technologies into the final product.
- Develop solutions for solving electrical systems issues across all product development stages.
- Lead the collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, power consumption, and thermal behavior of the final product.
- Bring product electrical design to mass production by defining Engineering Requirement Specifications (ERS) and analyzing test data, assisting in software bring-up, and traveling on-site to the manufacturer.
- Manage suppliers and manufacturing partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships for product designs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in consumer electronics, embedded system design, or electrical systems development.
- 4 years of experience in leading Consumer Electronics product development and integration.
- Experience with electrical engineering principles in: power regulation, high and low speed digital design, hardware bring-up and debug, and schematic capture or PCB layout.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering.
- Experience in driving resolution of cross-functional issues including architecture (performance, power consumption, thermal behavior), production (quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), and development (schematic design, PCB layout, system integration).
- Knowledge of hardware system architecture and analog/digital circuits, with System on a chip (SOC), Performance Monitoring Units (PMU), Audio, sensors, display, touch, camera or Radio Frequency (RF) subsystems.
- Knowledge of software and architectural design on power and thermal behavior of systems.
- Excellent project management, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide system decisions.
