Dane Street is looking for a Physician Reviewer specializing in Orthopedic Surgery to focus on Texas Counter Affidavit work. This is a telework opportunity where you will analyze CPT code application and fee schedule reductions, reviewing medical records to provide independent determinations. Reviewers are compensated per case as independent contractors.
What You'll Do
- Review all medical records and address each client question using client-specific or nationally recognized evidence-based criteria.
- Ensure the rationale for each determination is clear, concise, and contains adequate supporting documentation.
- Identify, critique, and utilize current criteria and resources like national/state/professional guidelines and peer-reviewed literature for objective decision-making.
- Provide copies of any criteria utilized in a review with the report in a timely manner.
- Return cases on or before the due date and time.
- Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and any special certifications required for the job.
- Attend all required orientation and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including responding to quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, depositions, court appearances, or audits.
What We're Looking For
- Must be an Orthopedic Surgeon.
- Must be located in the Dallas or Houston, Texas area.
- Must hold a valid Texas medical license.
- Must have testimony/deposition/counter affidavit work experience.
- Must have access to a Texas notary or be readily available for online notaries.
