About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is looking for a Physician Medical Director to provide leadership in a dynamic, startup environment focused on healthcare innovation. In this remote role, you will oversee regional medical operations and drive quality improvement and clinical regulatory programs in collaboration with joint venture partners.

What You'll Do

  • Lead medical management and quality improvement initiatives across the regional joint venture provider group.
  • Serve as a key liaison among patients, partners, and internal teams to foster collaboration and shared goals.
  • Oversee clinical programs such as disease management, palliative care planning, utilization management, and appeals.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and clinical guidelines within the region.
  • Address and resolve escalated clinical issues including utilization management, grievances, and appeals.
  • Analyze market data to identify opportunities to improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with corporate operations and portfolio companies to align strategy and growth priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong local market relationships that enhance provider partnerships.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid New York State Medical License as an MD or DO.
  • Minimum of 4 years of medical leadership experience.
  • Experience working in a startup or similarly dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable with extensive in-market travel and flexible working arrangements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered leadership approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex clinical and regulatory issues effectively.
