About the Role
The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive medical care under physician supervision, performing assessments, diagnosing conditions, and managing treatment plans for active-duty personnel and beneficiaries in a remote Alaskan setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations and physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe medications within scope of practice
- Perform minor surgical procedures as needed
- Document clinical findings in electronic health records
- Collaborate with supervising physicians on complex cases
- Provide health education and preventive care counseling
- Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations
- Maintain compliance with military medical protocols
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives
- Support public health surveillance and reporting
- Assist in medical readiness assessments
- Coordinate patient referrals when necessary
- Ensure proper handling and storage of medical supplies
- Adhere to infection control standards
- Participate in medical training exercises
- Maintain current clinical certifications
- Uphold patient confidentiality standards
- Follow emergency preparedness procedures
- Contribute to after-hours on-call coverage
- Engage in continuous professional development
- Support deployment health screenings
- Assist in medical data collection and reporting

Work Arrangement
On-site position located at Eareckson Air Station, Alaska
Team
Integrated within a multidisciplinary military medical team providing care in a remote operational environment
Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. military base access credential
Work Environment
Position located on a remote military installation with limited infrastructure and extreme weather conditions
Deployment Requirements
Must be prepared for extended assignments in isolated locations with rotational schedules
Medical Readiness
