About the Role

The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive medical care under physician supervision, performing assessments, diagnosing conditions, and managing treatment plans for active-duty personnel and beneficiaries in a remote Alaskan setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as needed
  • Document clinical findings in electronic health records
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians on complex cases
  • Provide health education and preventive care counseling
  • Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations
  • Maintain compliance with military medical protocols
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives
  • Support public health surveillance and reporting
  • Assist in medical readiness assessments
  • Coordinate patient referrals when necessary
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of medical supplies
  • Adhere to infection control standards
  • Participate in medical training exercises
  • Maintain current clinical certifications
  • Uphold patient confidentiality standards
  • Follow emergency preparedness procedures
  • Contribute to after-hours on-call coverage

Compensation

Work Arrangement

On-site position located at Eareckson Air Station, Alaska

Team

Integrated within a multidisciplinary military medical team providing care in a remote operational environment

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. military base access credential

Work Environment

Position located on a remote military installation with limited infrastructure and extreme weather conditions

Deployment Requirements

Must be prepared for extended assignments in isolated locations with rotational schedules

Medical Readiness

Candidates must meet military medical fitness standards for duty in austere environments

Travel
