Nexstar is hiring a Photographer/Director to join our team in Colchester, Vermont. This role is central to our morning newscasts, responsible for executing live shots and gathering news content, often working solo or alongside a reporter. You will also train to direct newscasts, coordinating all technical operators during live and recorded productions.
What You'll Do
- Communicate and execute all technical aspects of live production with technical staff.
- Shoot video for news reports and maintain video equipment.
- Set up, compose, and execute video shots.
- Edit for newscasts using Bit Central Create and Adobe Premiere Software.
- Operate a live satellite truck in remote situations as needed.
- Act as a liaison between engineering and production departments.
- Work with news producers to deliver a clean, high-energy newscast.
- Switch video sources during live broadcasts and test equipment for proper operation.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency with video cameras and equipment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice to Have
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with news operations, production, or videography.
- Proficiency with broadcast control equipment.

- Software: Bit Central Create, Adobe Premiere, Ignite production system
