CVS Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy teams in delivering operational and service excellence within our retail locations. In this role, you will be responsible for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, patient service, and contributing to pharmacy workflow.
What You'll Do
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback.
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics, where allowable by law and supported by training.
- Where permissible, support immunizations by preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.
What We're Looking For
- Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If state board does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age.
- If state board does not mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over time and pivot quickly between tasks.
- Customer service and team orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
- Communication skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication; utilize active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems related to prescription filling.
- Problem resolution: Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- Physical demands: Be mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; move fingers repetitively; extend arms; control precision; stoop; have close visual acuity; lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the pharmacy team within retail locations, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager.
