CVS Health is looking for a Pharmacy Manager to lead and develop a team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. You will act as a role model, promote best practices, and guide your team through change to help improve patient health outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the pharmacy team during bench shifts through effective coaching and consistent follow-up to strengthen performance.
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team on workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and coaching your team to do the same.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by coaching the team on all best practices.
- Conduct onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists within the store and district, including training on CVS workflow.
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations at all times.
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a pipeline of cross-trained colleagues.
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance through observation and feedback and delivering annual reviews.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, oversee the pharmacy schedule, and foster a safe, inclusive team dynamic.
- Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close performance gaps.
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion where the team feels valued.
- Support pharmacist-delivered clinical care, such as testing and prescribing services where permissible, to improve patient outcomes.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies.
What We're Looking For
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within a designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus to concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation to proactively help people and respond appropriately.
- Communication skills to use verbal and written language, interact with patients and colleagues, and utilize active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning to solve problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Problem resolution skills to identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- Physical ability to be mobile for extended periods, lift, scan, and bag items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
- Team management and leadership skills to lead by example, delegate, motivate, coach, provide feedback, and discipline or terminate team members.
Nice to Have
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program.
- 3-5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business need.
