CVS Health is looking for a Pharmacy Intern - Grad to apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to prepare you for a Pharmacist role and deepen your understanding of store, district, and regional operations.
What You'll Do
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Deepen your understanding of patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance drug utilization review, and pharmacy professional standards.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Operate as part of the team by applying Standard Operating Procedures, best practices, and effective communication.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care, contributing to a safe and inclusive culture.
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history under a pharmacist's direct supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and call prescribers for clarification or medication changes, as state regulations allow.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership and as permitted by law.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset and feedback.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, traveling to market stores as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law.
- Support immunizations, including obtaining Technician Immunizer status, educating patients, and monitoring adverse reactions.
What We're Looking For
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time and pivot quickly between tasks.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
- Notice and understand patients’ reactions, responding appropriately.
- Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
- Utilize active listening skills.
- Ability to use math to solve problems.

- Ability to stoop, requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
- Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and reading.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs of force; frequently lift up to 10 lbs and/or exert up to 10 lbs of force.
- Express or exchange ideas by spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication.
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Ability to work in your home store and across the market in other locations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Benefits & Compensation
- Pay Range: $19.75 - $42.00
