HDI Group is looking for a People Lead Software Development Underwriting to provide leadership for software development teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) focusing on Underwriting Applications. You will be responsible for guiding team growth, driving technical excellence, and strategically integrating AI into our development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Take disciplinary, organizational, and budgetary responsibility for software development teams within the ART Underwriting.
- Encourage professional and personal growth of team members, promoting self-organized and accountable work.
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of AI-supported development practices such as GitHub Copilot, AI Code Review, and AI-driven test automation.
- Develop AI literacy and engineering excellence within teams, ensuring the responsible use of AI tools.
- Support and foster a feedback-oriented culture of trust with open communication structures.
- Strategically work on the development of all software developers in collaboration with other People Leads and ART Leadership.
- Collaborate proactively with Capability Managers & Architects to integrate AI competency into the capability roadmap.
What We're Looking For
- A successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or similar education/training.
- Several years of relevant leadership experience in agile software development teams, with SAFe preferred.
- Proven experience in driving engineering excellence.
- In-depth knowledge of development methods and architectural management techniques.
- Strong leadership personality focused on collaboration, mentoring, and empowerment.
- Well-developed communication and conflict management skills.
- Excellent German and English language skills at the C1 level.
Nice to Have
- First experience with AI-assisted software development.
