Deel is looking for a Payroll Implementation Manager to oversee the successful implementation and data migration of payroll systems for our UK clients. In this role, you will lead and manage the full payroll implementation process, ensuring accurate data transfer, proper system configuration, and a seamless transition.
What You'll Do
- Organize and run kick-off meetings, creating and managing project plans for successful client roll-out.
- Support project review calls, coordinate project streams, and manage scope changes and delivery schedules.
- Define and set up agreed client payroll processes, establish payroll and data requirements, and manage payroll calendars.
- Maintain detailed project documentation including project plans, status reports, and process documentation.
- Define, agree, and configure interfaces, reports, and systems for parallel and live payrolls.
- Work with clients to sign off on projects, document client-specific needs and processes, and generate reports to audit and reconcile payroll data.
- Map GL reports if required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll project matters for the client.
- Lead end-to-end implementation of global payroll systems, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Gather key requirements from clients and guide them through technical payroll aspects of onboarding.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather payroll requirements.
- Ensure payroll processes adhere to local tax and labor laws, keeping up-to-date with changes.
- Oversee migration of payroll data from legacy systems, ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to identify and resolve system issues.
- Implement change management strategies for a seamless transition for employees and HR teams.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in global payroll implementation and payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across your designated location.
- Experience with payroll systems and software.
- Client-facing project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Master’s degree.
Team & Environment
Primarily an autonomous role where you'll set priorities and manage projects appropriately. Regular status reporting to senior leadership is required.
