Deel is looking for a Payroll Implementation Manager based in Mexico to oversee the successful implementation and data migration of payroll systems for our clients. You will lead the full process, ensuring accurate data transfer, proper system configuration, and a seamless transition as part of our mission to build the infrastructure for the future of work.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of a global payroll system, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Work with onboarding teams and clients to organize kick-off meetings and deliver the implementation.
- Create, maintain, and manage project plans for successful client roll-outs.
- Define and set up agreed client payroll processes, establishing all payroll and data requirements.
- Oversee the migration of payroll data from legacy systems, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Define, agree, and configure all interfaces, reports, and system configurations for successful parallel and live payroll runs.
- Ensure all payroll processes adhere to local tax and labor laws, staying up-to-date with changes.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to identify and resolve system issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll project matters for the client.
- Schedule and lead weekly client calls to report on status, risks, actions, issues, and dependencies.
- Generate reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data, and map GL reports if required.
- Provide regular status reporting to senior leadership.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, status reports, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather payroll requirements.
- Implement change management strategies to ensure a seamless transition for employees and HR teams.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in global payroll implementation and payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across your designated location.
- Experience with payroll systems and software.
- Client-facing project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Master’s degree preferred.
