Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at Baptist Medical Center South. You will ensure the accurate collection of patient information and financial details, serving as a critical first point of contact. Your work directly supports patient access and the financial integrity of our healthcare services.
What You'll Do
- Perform pre-registration and registration of patients.
- Identify and verify payer information.
- Refer patients to financial counseling as needed.
- Collect patient financial responsibility at the point of service.
- Ensure accurate data entry of patient demographic and benefit information into computer systems.
- Verify benefits eligibility, limitations, and coordination of benefits.
- Understand and comply with regulatory requirements including medical necessity determination, Medicare Secondary Payer, Important Message from Medicare, HIPAA, and EMTALA.
What We're Looking For
- High school graduate or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree in a healthcare or business-related field.
- Bilingual capability (English and Spanish).
- At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment.
- Training experience.
- Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Technical Stack
- MS Office.
- Relevant patient registration and financial computer software.

This is an onsite position located at Baptist Medical Center South.
