DaVita, a company whose name means ‘giving life,’ is looking for a Patient Care Technician to join our clinical team. You will provide essential, hands-on care to patients with end-stage renal disease in an outpatient dialysis center, building long-term relationships as part of a holistic care team.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct one-on-one patient care to deliver safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, measuring and recording vital signs and observations.
- Perform hemodialysis machine setup.
- Care for multiple patients during your shift.
- Build long-term relationships with patients who receive treatment approximately three times per week.
- Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics.
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfort working around blood and needles.
- Comfort mixing acid or bicarb solutions.
- The physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- A flexible schedule and ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice to Have
- Health care experience is a plus, including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
Team & Environment
You will join a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, reporting directly to a Registered Nurse (RN).
